It's good to be McCain

Glad to see somebody is having fun. Looks like life is just a barrel of laughs on the Double Talk Express.

This will make you real angry: A new attack ad by the McCain campaign that targets Obama's children. "Cute, but are they ready to lead."
"[W]e had to do something to give the American people some straight talk on those two brats," Sen. McCain said today.

What a low-life scum !!!

Hey SC. I was burned by Borowitz on the Paris Hilton kerfluffle. He's a comedian, or more properly a satirist I guess. I'm sure he made that up. But I bet that's what the McCain is thinking.

Libby, until McCain disavows the Swift Boat smears against Obama, my advice: Run with it. It makes good copy, and McCain deserves a smear in kind.

Nice idea but to promote that piece you need an ability to deliver snark that I don't possess SC.

snark that I don't possess

Imagine for a moment a glimpse into a hypothetical future, like that that vision of Pottersville offered by Clarence:

The poor and the working class are now homeless and living on streets because the economy has tanked from years of outsourcing and globalization. The entire manufacturing base resides in China, and the cost of consumer goods has skyrocketed because China holds us hostage.

There are now 10 million unwanted children on the streets because Roe V. Wade has been outlawed.

There are no more social services available to take care of these children because the Republicans have gutted healthcare, Medicare, public eduction, and social security. Pfotenhauer and Gramm want to terminate all child labor laws so street urchins can have jobs. Only the wealthy get school vouchers.

Houston, Galveston, and Brownsville are now ghost towns, devastated by giant storms. There is no more FEMA due to budget cutbacks. All Gulf coast drilling platforms have been lost, and all refining capacity has been shut down. There are no alternative sources of energy. Meanwhile, China and Russia are raking in hundreds of billions of dollars from newfound oil fields in Iraq contracted by Al Maliki during the closing months of the Bush administration.

Millions of Americans are flocking southward towards Mexico to escape the economic privations at home. The United States has become another Haiti.

Libby, the veneer between snark and a hypothetical reality is dangerously thin. Pottersville versus another 4 years under McCain ... it makes no difference to me.

I sometimes find myself wishing for some of these doomsday scenarios to become real. Maybe some "tough love" would teach this country a lesson, but then I come to my senses and realize it still wouldn't work.

Grim vision SC. And I think you're right Fogg, even doomsday won't wake up the deluded.
