Set Sarah Palin free
Of course, I was saying this two weeks ago and no one paid attention, but nonetheless, it's good to see it on the teevee coming from a notable talking head like Campbell Brown.
Really. While her over-all knowledge and qualifications are an issue, there is no doubt that Palin is very experienced in dealing with the media. There's absolutely no reason for the McCain campaign to be resigning her to the sole role of McCain's arm candy.
It's damned insulting to her and to all women. Not exactly what I call crashing the glass ceiling to protect her like she was some little fragile china doll.

I find it ironic how quickly our perceptions change. Weeks ago, Palin was perceived as the anti-feminist feminist, the nominee from McCain's Inferno.
Now we see her differently. In some ways an admirable feminist, Palin is a role model for women who struggle between family demands and career, and her husband plays the supportive role behind the career-driven wife. Radical feminists would have fits of jealousy to enjoy such benefits.
We may disagree with Palin's politics but we should not dismiss her entirely.
This is what makes the McCain campaign so hypocritical. Sarah Palin is being treated like a manikin, nothing more.
Exactly so. Gee, what should I call you now. Is it still okay to call you SC? I'm kind of used to that.
A manikin won't say something stupid, dangerous or outragious. Sarah will. If you're trying to pass off Tugboat Annie as a debutante, you'd better be sure she says nothing and nobody gets to look too close.

Wait a minute, Octopus. Be careful of your use of the term "radical feminist." I am not a rad-fem according to the "academic" definition of the term, but as a feminist I do envy SP her husband who is willing to stay at home to raise the kids in support of her career.
Though of course SP will never use the "fem" word to describe herself being aligned as she is with the so-called & self-professed anti-fems of the right.
Gotta love the boldness of the Right - attempting to coopt feminism while championing an anti-fem point of view.

The error of my ways is that I was speaking generally and generically.
It is so ironic that the GOP are using an anti-feminist to break the glass ceiling. I can't imagine a greater insult to women.
